My name is E.J. (Ernst Jan) van Housselt, Yachtmaster and specialised in the unburdening of yacht owners around the Mediterranean.
Professional experience
After more then 15 years of experience as a professional yacht service provider I have turned the wheel and redirected my passion into my own company EJSAILS.
I mainly gained my broad experience as a boatcaptain of various yachts in the Mediterranean. For these yachts I was ultimately responsible for the technical condition and logistics.
I was employed for more than 10 years at one of the best Yacht Service Providers in the Netherlands. It is here where I acquired most of my broad technical knowledge of all systems and riggings on yachts.

More then 10 Ocean crossings
I have succesfully skippered many ocean crossings on yachts varying from 45 foot up to 65 foot Volvo Ocean Racers.
Volvo Ocean Race
I enjoyed the function of Shore Team Engineer at Team Brunel; the Dutch participation in the Volvo Ocean Race. Before and after these campaigns I skippered the VO65. During this decade we trained young Dutch talents into Ocean racing and kept her in adequate shape. We took part in many corporate events in Northern and Southern Europe and around the Caribbean Islands.
